cause and effect

Optimism is an important trait for a fulfilling life. Firstly, optimism makes people stay positive. Every coin has two sides; people who are optimistic will probably focus more on the bright sight of the things. For instance, when having half a cup of wine, they will rejoice at enjoying the left half cup of wine, rather than regret about the left half a cup of wine. Secondly, optimistic people are more confident and brave. Instead of being scared by challenges and allowing themselves to escape, they are more likely to grasp opportunities, and try their best to fulfill their curiosities and ambitions. On one hand, they can accumulate experience during the process, which may make them specialized on certain fields. On the other hand, during this period, they may exploit their potential and live a different life. Thirdly, optimism makes people resilient. Facing a loss, they are not likely to stand still and cry over the spilt milk for a long time. Just as Tagore said,’ if you shed tears when you miss the sun, you will also miss the stars’. Optimistic people are more likely to recover from the sorrow or depression soon, and continue their life. Being stuck by obstacles, they will probably apply self-motivation to explore another way, instead of giving up. Staying positive, being confident and resilient to the changes, optimistic people live a fulfilling life in this way.

the excellent use fo one's EQ

The excellent use of one’s EQ in a humiliating situation is helpful. Once I watched a movie called ‘Love actually’, which had a scene about how the Prime Minister of Britain defended his country’s dignity. On the scene, the American president was asked how the visit to the UK was in the news conference. The president said: “Satisfactory, indeed. We got what we came for, and our special relationship with Britain is still very special.” What a humiliating situation it was to the Prime Minister! It seemed that he and his government were cowards and did not dare to fight for their country’s benefit. However, the Prime Minister said, “I love that word ‘relationship’. Covers all manners of sins, doesn't it? I fear that it has become a bad relationship. A relationship based on the president taking exactly what he wants, and casually ignoring all those things that really matter to Britain. We maybe a small country, but we are a great one too. The country of Shakespeare, Churchill, the Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry potter, David Beckham's right foot, David Beckham's left foot…’ What a heart-stirring speech it was! I was deeply impressed by his listing of what Britain is famous for, especially the mention of Harry Potter and David Beckham’s golden right foot. When hearing this, I could not help but give him a round of applause. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s announcement raised people’s patriotism and pride. That is the power of an excellent use of one’s EQ. It can minimize the embarrassing atmosphere and save one person’s or even one country’s face. In conclusion, an excellent use of EQ is helpful for people to solve humiliating problems.

my life's meaning

My life’s meaning
“Life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” I want my life to be a box of chocolate—tasty and full of wonders. I am not the one who is endowed with big ambitions, because sometimes they make me feel stressful. What I want is a simple life fulfilled with happiness and wonders. I cannot bear a monotonous life, even though what I am doing may be meaningful. I still want my life to be slightly different every day. Therefore, I will never be a copy of the one I was yesterday. Every day when I wake up, I can tell myself hopefully that something new will happen today.Though sometimes new things may scare me stiff and make me feel helpless at first, the process of dealing with them is a big challenge, isn't it? I will be very happy and have a great sense of achievement when they are solved successfully. When I become old, I can look back to every meaningful and different day I have spent without regret. In conclusion,a life with happiness and wonders is all I want.
