the excellent use fo one's EQ

The excellent use of one’s EQ in a humiliating situation is helpful. Once I watched a movie called ‘Love actually’, which had a scene about how the Prime Minister of Britain defended his country’s dignity. On the scene, the American president was asked how the visit to the UK was in the news conference. The president said: “Satisfactory, indeed. We got what we came for, and our special relationship with Britain is still very special.” What a humiliating situation it was to the Prime Minister! It seemed that he and his government were cowards and did not dare to fight for their country’s benefit. However, the Prime Minister said, “I love that word ‘relationship’. Covers all manners of sins, doesn't it? I fear that it has become a bad relationship. A relationship based on the president taking exactly what he wants, and casually ignoring all those things that really matter to Britain. We maybe a small country, but we are a great one too. The country of Shakespeare, Churchill, the Beatles, Sean Connery, Harry potter, David Beckham's right foot, David Beckham's left foot…’ What a heart-stirring speech it was! I was deeply impressed by his listing of what Britain is famous for, especially the mention of Harry Potter and David Beckham’s golden right foot. When hearing this, I could not help but give him a round of applause. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s announcement raised people’s patriotism and pride. That is the power of an excellent use of one’s EQ. It can minimize the embarrassing atmosphere and save one person’s or even one country’s face. In conclusion, an excellent use of EQ is helpful for people to solve humiliating problems.
